Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) Recruitment 2013 For Apprentice Trainees

Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) is a fast upcoming power generating utility with all the Technical and Organizational capabilities at par with other generating companies like NTPC/ SJVNL/ NHPC. Efforts are afoot to further strengthen the respective departments with professionals of proven credentials and qualified technical manpower.

HPPCL, apart from Hydro Power Development, intends to diversify its power development activities in other areas such as thermal, renewable sources of energy, mainly solar power etc. HPPCL intends to meet the challenges of dynamically transforming business and environment to build a sustainable relationship with the stakeholders for maximum benefits and economic growth by achieving performance excellence.

With the recent notification, the HPPCL is inviting candidates completed their Bachelors Degree/ Diploma in Engineering and Technology OR, Masters Degree in Business Administration and Finance to join the team as Apprentice Trainee for a training period of 1 year.

  1. Apprentice Engineer (Civil): 11 Slots
  2. Apprentice Engineer (Electrical): 12 Slots
  3. Apprentice Engineer (Mechanical): 07 Slots
  4. Apprentice Engineer (IT): 03 Slots
  5. Apprentice Executive (Personnel): 06 Slots
  6. Apprentice Executive (Finance): 05 Slots
  7. Apprentice JE (Civil): 05 Slots
  8. Apprentice JE (Electrical): 05 Slots
  9. Apprentice (Geologist): 05 Slots
  10. Apprentice (R & R): 05 Slots
  11. Apprentice (Company Secretary): 01 Slot

Pay Scale:

  • Apprentice Engineer (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ IT) & Apprentice Executive (Personnel/ Finance/Company Secretary): The candidates selected for these slots will be eligible to receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs.12000 per month during their apprenticeship.
  • Apprentice JE(Civil/ Electrical) & Apprentice (R&R/Geologist): The candidates selected for these slots will be eligible to receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs.8000 per month during their apprenticeship.
  • An amount of Rs.1000 will be deducted from the selected candidate if he/she avails company accommodation.

Education & Academics:

  • Apprentice Engineer (Civil): The Applicant should have completed his BE/ BTech in Civil Engineering with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
  • Apprentice Engineer (Electrical): The Applicant should have completed his BE/ BTech in Electrical Engineering with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
  • Apprentice Engineer (Mechanical): The Applicant should have completed his BE/ BTech in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
  • Apprentice Engineer (IT): The Applicant should have completed his BE/ BTech in Computer Science/ MCA with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
  • Apprentice Executive (Personnel): The Applicant should have completed MBA in HR/ Personnel with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Apprentice Executive (Finance): The Applicant should have completed MBA (Finance)/ ICWA/ CA/ MFSC with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Apprentice JE (Civil): The Applicant should have completed Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Apprentice JE (Electrical): The Applicant should have completed Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Apprentice (Geologist): The Applicant should have completed MA/ M.Sc in Geology with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Apprentice (R & R): The Applicant should have completed MA Sociology/Masters in Social Work with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Apprentice (Company Secretary): The Applicant who has passed in Professional Programme of Company Secretary but is yet become a member of ICSI OR, a candidate who is Member of ICSI is eligible to apply.

NOTE:

  1. All candidates must have knowledge of customs/ manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh (Preferred)
  2. The candidates belonging to SC/ST category and Project affected areas will enjoy a relaxed norm of percentage of marks with 5% relaxation

Age:

a)    For Graduates/ PG professionals: 18 to 30 years as on the last date of application

b)    For Diploma holders: 18 to 24 years as on the last date of application

NOTE: The upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST candidates of Himachal Pradesh as per the norms of the state. A relaxation of 5 years is applicable in maximum age limit for candidates belonging to Project Affected Families.

Agreement:

The selected Apprentice Trainee prior to joining as such in HPPCL, will have to sign an agreement of term of apprenticeship of one year period with the HPPCL. The scheme is approved for providing apprenticeship only for one year only and will not be extended under any circumstances.

Mode of Selection:

  • The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the information provided in the online application through their career marks
  • Depending upon the number of applicants the HPPCL may conduct Screening Test/ Written test prior to Personal Interview for the posts
  • The Final selection of a candidate will be made solely on the basis of his/her performance on merit basis
  • The candidates have to produce their original documents on the day of interview.
